Samsung Confirms 42 Galaxy Devices for Monthly Updates, Cements 7-Year Support Policy

CaliToday (/2025): The November 2025 security list is dominated by the flagship Galaxy S and Z series, while only one consumer-grade Galaxy A model makes the elite monthly schedule.

Samsung has reinforced its position as the industry leader in Android software support, publishing its official security update schedule for November 2025. The company has publicly committed to delivering monthly Security Maintenance Releases (SMRs) to 42 distinct Galaxy models, underscoring its massive-scale support infrastructure.

This monthly schedule is the most intensive of Samsung's support tiers which also include quarterly and bi-annual schedules. It is reserved almost exclusively for its premium flagship devices, a distinction made clear by the new list.

This commitment is powered by Samsung's new, industry-leading software policy:

  • Flagship Devices (2024+): Supported for 7 years of both OS and security updates.

  • Mid-Range/Budget Devices: Receive up to 6 years of OS and security updates.

  • Legacy Devices (Pre-2024): Continue to receive 4 to 5 years of security updates as per their original policy.
