Woman Fatally Stabbed on Ho Chi Minh City Sidewalk; Police Hunt for Suspect in Jealousy-Fueled Attack

CaliToday (05/10/2025): A manhunt is underway after a young woman was brutally stabbed to death on a city sidewalk Saturday night in what police believe was a horrifying attack motivated by jealousy.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 PM on October 4th in Alley 106 on Truong Van Bang Street, Tam Thang Ward. The victim, identified by her initials D.H., aged 25, was discovered by local residents lying motionless in a pool of blood in front of a building of rental apartments.

An official from the People's Committee of Tam Thang Ward confirmed the homicide to local media, stating that authorities were immediately deployed to the scene and are actively searching for the suspect.

According to witness accounts, Ms. H., who worked at a local bar, was seen being followed by a young man just moments before the assault. The man then reportedly used a weapon to attack her viciously, inflicting multiple severe wounds. After she collapsed onto the pavement, the assailant quickly fled the scene.

Bystanders who witnessed the horrific event immediately called for an ambulance, but due to the gravity of her injuries, Ms. H. was pronounced dead at the scene before medical help could arrive.

Police from Tam Thang Ward, in coordination with professional units from the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, promptly sealed off the area to conduct a forensic examination. Investigators are currently analyzing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and gathering statements from witnesses to piece together the events leading to the murder.

The preliminary investigation strongly suggests that the suspect was an acquaintance of the victim. Authorities have stated that the initial motive for the brutal crime is believed to stem from a personal conflict arising from jealousy.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue their urgent search for the perpetrator.
