Vietnam Appoints Top Editor Hoang Trung Dung to Key Party Personnel Body

HANOI, Dec. 31, 2025 – In a significant move to fortify the leadership structure ahead of the upcoming political season, the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam has appointed Mr. Hoang Trung Dung, the current Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review (Tạp chí Cộng sản), as the new Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Commission.

The decision was officially announced this morning at a ceremony in Hanoi, marking a strategic shift in personnel management on the final day of 2025.

Strategic Reinforcement The Central Organizing Commission is one of the most powerful advisory bodies in the Vietnamese political system, responsible for nominating and vetting senior officials for the Party and State apparatus. The appointment of Mr. Dung comes at a crucial juncture as the Party ramps up preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, slated for early 2026.

Mr. Dung is widely recognized for his strong theoretical background and political acumen. As the Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review—the Party’s leading theoretical organ—he has played a pivotal role in shaping and disseminating the Party's ideological stance over recent years.

Leadership Expectations Presiding over the announcement ceremony, senior Party leaders emphasized the trust placed in Mr. Dung. The Politburo expressed confidence that his deep understanding of political theory, combined with his administrative experience, will bring a fresh and rigorous perspective to the vital task of cadre organization.
