BALI, Indonesia – A formidable 39-member national team from Vietnam is currently launching its campaign at the 2025 Vovinam World Championships, which is being held in Bali, Indonesia.
The event, which runs from November 1st to November 8th, brings together the best Vovinam practitioners from around the globe to compete in the Vietnamese traditional martial art.
As the founding nation of Vovinam, Vietnam enters the tournament as the undisputed powerhouse and the team to beat. The 39 athletes, a full-force delegation, are carrying the high expectations of a nation passionate about its cultural and martial heritage.
The team is set to compete across the full spectrum of the sport's disciplines. This includes the high-intensity combat (sparring) divisions as well as the intricate and technical performance categories, known as quyền (forms), which are often a highlight of the competition.
With the championships now fully underway, all eyes are on the Vietnamese team as they aim to secure their traditional spot atop the final medal table, showcasing the "Viet Vo Dao" (the way of Vietnamese martial arts) on its biggest international stage.
