From Politics to 'Firework': Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Confirm Shock Romance with Hand-in-Hand Paris Birthday Celebration

CaliToday (/2025): The world’s most speculated-about new couple has finally gone public. Global pop superstar Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53, have confirmed months of swirling dating rumors after they were photographed holding hands while leaving an iconic Parisian cabaret on Saturday night.

The public debut served as a birthday celebration for the "Firework" singer, who turned 41. The pair were spotted leaving the famed Crazy Horse Paris venue, an undeniable "hard launch" for their romance.

In footage obtained by TMZ, the couple emerged from the show hand in hand, navigating a throng of photographers and fans. Perry was stunning in a bold red dress, while Trudeau opted for a casual suit. The adoring crowd serenaded the singer with "Happy Birthday," and one fan handed her a single red rose, which she graciously accepted. The couple then ducked into a waiting chauffeured vehicle.

This romantic Parisian getaway is the climax of a relationship that has quietly escalated from whispered rumors to steamy yacht embraces over the past several months.

From Montreal Dinners to Santa Barbara Steam

The unlikely pairing first "sparked" headlines in late July when they were spotted on an intimate dinner date in Trudeau's hometown of Montreal. An onlooker captured video of the California Gurls singer appearing "cosy" with the former political leader as they shared a meal at Taverne Atlantic before moving outside for drinks on the terrace.

The rumors then exploded earlier this month when bombshell photos emerged of the couple aboard Perry's luxury yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. The pair were pictured in a steamy embrace, leaving no doubt as to the nature of their relationship. Perry, in a black and white swimsuit, was seen sharing an intimate hug with a shirtless, jeans-clad Trudeau. In one widely circulated photo, the former Canadian leader was seen wrapping his hands around the superstar's waist, appearing to grab her backside.

Perry's On-Stage Hints

The confirmation comes just over a week after Perry herself broke her silence—and took a veiled swipe at her ex, English actor Orlando Bloom.

Speaking to a raucous crowd at London’s O2 Arena during her Lifetimes world tour, she remarked, “No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”

In another telling moment, when a fan proposed marriage from the audience, she laughed it off, cheekily replying: “I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago.”

A New Chapter for Both

The new romance follows high-profile separations for both stars. Perry split from Bloom earlier this year, with representatives confirming the couple had been "shifting their relationship... to focus on coparenting" their three-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.

Trudeau announced his own separation from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire, in August 2023, calling the decision the result of "many meaningful and difficult conversations." They share three children.

While neither Perry nor Trudeau's representatives have released an official statement, their very public, hand-in-hand appearance in the City of Love has said more than words ever could.
