HO CHI MINH CITY – August 20, 2025 – An investigation has been launched after a male university student was found deceased inside his locked rental room in Ho Chi Minh City. The discovery was reportedly made several days after he had last been seen, prompting an urgent police response to clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to preliminary information, the landlord of the rental property, located in one of the city's densely populated districts, decided to check on the student after residents in the building noted his prolonged absence and a foul odor emanating from the room. After receiving no response, the landlord alerted local authorities.
Police officers, upon arriving at the scene, forced entry into the room and found the student deceased. Forensic teams were immediately dispatched to conduct an initial examination of the scene and the body. Officials have stated that the body was already in a state of decomposition, indicating that the death had occurred a number of days prior to the discovery.
