Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Fierce Retaliatory Attacks and a New Peace Talk Proposal

The war situation continues to escalate with large-scale retaliatory attacks from both sides.

Fierce Retaliatory Attacks and a New Peace Talk Proposal

Ukraine's Attack on Moscow: Ukraine has reportedly deployed over 140 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to attack the capital, Moscow, and its surrounding areas. Russia's air defense systems were activated to intercept the assault; however, some UAVs managed to get through, causing fires in several buildings and infrastructure facilities.

Russia's Retaliatory Airstrikes: In retaliation, the Russian military conducted a series of high-precision airstrikes against multiple targets in Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that the targets included military facilities, command centers, and specifically recruitment centers in provinces such as Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Rivne. Russia is also exerting heavy pressure on the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.

Possibility of Negotiations: Amid the fierce fighting, Ukrainian President Zelensky has unexpectedly proposed holding a new round of peace negotiations with Russia next week. This move is seen as an effort to restore dialogue after a long stalemate, reflecting growing pressure from both the battlefield and the international community. The Russian side has not yet issued an official response to this proposal.
