The formal handover ceremony took place at the United States Embassy in Santiago. Officials from Chile's Investigative Police (Policía de Investigaciones de Chile, or PDI) presented the recovered timepieces to the FBI's legal attaché in Chile. The watches, described as unique and expensive pieces from renowned luxury brands, are now set to be returned to the United States and reunited with their owner.

The watches were initially reported stolen following a home invasion at Mr. Reeves' Hollywood Hills property several months ago. The perpetrators managed to bypass security systems and made off with a number of personal items, with the watch collection being the most valuable among them.
The trail for the stolen goods went cold in the U.S. but was eventually picked up by international investigators.
